Explosive Surge in U.S. Consumer Spending for December

The signs of improvement we picked up in November have snowballed into an explosive surge in consumer spending, according to ChangeWave's December survey of 2,708 U.S. consumers.

The December 2-13 survey shows two retailers enjoying their best holiday seasons ever. And a host of other major retailers are seeing their highest consumer spending levels of the past two years.

The December survey has also picked up another increase in consumer sentiment and expectations, for the third consecutive month of solid gains.
