ChangeWave’s January survey shows spending growth is a bit lower following the seasonal upticks of the previous two months. Nevertheless, this is the strongest January spending growth rate of the past four years. The January 5-20 survey of 2,022 U.S. consumers shows spending is up for autos and household repairs, even as electronics and restaurant spending are slowing in the aftermath of the holidays.
