ChangeWave's latest consumer survey – conducted September 1-13 – points to a further tightening in U.S. consumer spending going forward.
The survey of 2,774 U.S. respondents has also picked up a worsening in consumer sentiment and expectations. Spending in most categories has edged slightly lower in the current survey, although a few have remained flat.
Among the major retailers, there is only one standout this month.
