November Consumer Spending Report
Strong Holiday Shopping Boosts November Consumer Spending

A new ChangeWave survey shows U.S. consumer spending registering an uptick for November – led by a seasonal surge in restaurant and electronics spending.

Importantly, the survey of 2,068 consumers – completed November 14 – points to the strongest holiday shopping season of the past eight years, coupled with a marked improvement in consumer expectations and confidence.

Among retailers, Amazon and Apple are big winners on the electronics front. Spending intentions for most other major retailers are also up, with Costco seeing the most momentum. ChangeWave Research is a service of 451 Research.
